The Safe and Sound Protocol.
The Safe and Sound Protocol is a powerful auditory healing tool. It helps repair the root of many sensory challenges, mental/emotional and chronic body health struggles. Simply put, it is 5 hours of specially filtered music that is designed to bring regulation to your nervous system. When our nervous system becomes balanced and flexible, our body is able to soothe, diminish and sometimes even eliminate many of our symptoms of stress, trauma, chronic illness, and mood disorders.
Like other wellness tools, there can be no guarantees for all, or even any of the following benefits - yet it is very rare that someone would not experience any benefits from the listening, if *preceding at a pace designed for their own nervous system* (something we specialize in here at Whole Self Counselling!)

Both Bryan and Susie, Registered Therapeutic Counsellors, were trained by Unyte, in SSP delivery. We have taken advanced training in delivery of SSP for complex nervous systems. Additionally, we are trained in Somatic Experiencing - a modality that specializes in deep attunement and care of nervous system healing.
We will work closely with you to help you have greater understanding of your symptoms of nervous system dysregulation. We will help you titrate the listening of the SSP to suit your nervous system. This can mean listening sessions that are seconds or minutes long.
The 5 hours of therapeutic listening are designed to be savoured over time. For some individuals that may mean they listen to the 5 hours of the core SSP over 2 weeks, and others may take several weeks, and sometimes even months to complete listening. For those with complex nervous systems that need longer to listen, improvements tend to unfold very early in the listening process - they do not need to wait until completion of the protocol to begin *FEELING much better*.
